Department welcomes Alessandro Veneziani
Published: 09/07/2007
We are pleased to announce that Alessandro Veneziani, previously of the Politecnico di Milano, has joined Emory as Associate Professor of Mathematics and Computer Science. Alessandro's research interests are in computational mathematics, with a particular emphasis on simulation and modeling of fluid flows. He is currently working on hemodynamics and mathematical prediction of aneurysms in blood vessels. He recently received the Sacchi-Landriani Internazional Prize for Numerical Analysis of Partial Differential Equations, and is a past recipient of a SIAM Outstanding Paper award. He will be a key participant in our Computational Mathematics program and will teach linear algebra, computational fluid dynamics, and numerical simulation. We welcome Alessandro warmly and wish him a long and fruitful career at Emory!
